Programme

Spotted Dog Art Group provides monthly day-long tutored workshops at a local venue. We usually exhibit twice annually, lectures occur occasionally, and local and national events are advertised and visits arranged. The newsletter Spot Check keeps members informed about the events and workshops run by the group.

Non-members are welcome at our Workshops, for which the fee is £25 for non members (£20 for members). For information about workshops please contact Maureen Scott on maureencscott@yahoo.co.uk

Exhibitions

We have exhibitions every year where members’ work can be offered for sale. Exhibitions at the Nottingham Society of Artists Gallery, Friar Lane, Nottingham are always popular. [more]

Workshops

The core of the group is its programme of workshops. Most of these are day-long tutored events held on one Saturday per month from September to June. These vary enormously, with different media, techniques, and subject matter being explored. We foster an open minded and experimental attitude to drawing, painting, design and the use of colour [more]

Evening Events (Kennels)

Evening events (informally known as "Kennels") are occasional social gatherings at one of our members’ homes. Generally we have a themed evening where we discuss a particular artist or artistic movement. Also we sometimes have critique evenings where a small group discusses their work and we give each other constructive advice. [more]

Outdoor Painting (Summer)

Painting outdoors can be daunting even for the experienced, so interesting locations with good facilities are scouted out for small groups. These are arranged in July and August, and we hope the weather co-operates! [more]
